Haitham Issa

Interim Islamic Director

As a founding member of the Islamic Society of Central Kentucky (ISCK), Haitham has been a prominent and active figure in the Lexington community for over 30 years. His leadership and service reflect a deep commitment to fostering a strong and vibrant Islamic presence in the area.

Before joining the administration of the Lexington Universal Academy (LUA) in 2014, Haitham served as a dedicated member of the LUA Board. He currently serves as the Imam and Khateeb of the Lexington Islamic Center (Armstrong Mill Masjid), where he continues to provide spiritual guidance and leadership.

Haitham has also served as the Director of Islamic Studies, Arabic, and Quran (ISAQ) at LUA for the past 11 years. In this role, he plays a key part in maintaining the school’s Islamic environment and provides spiritual guidance to the students and staff.

A devoted father of four LUA graduates, Haitham understands firsthand the importance of Islamic education. He remains deeply committed to the success and well-being of every student at LUA.
