Usthata Iman is the Arabic Language and Quran Resource teacher at Lexington Universal Academy. Alhamdulillah, she has been with LUA since 2004. She was born in Baghdad, Iraq, where she earned two Bachelor’s degrees—one in Teaching Arabic Language and another in Science from Baghdad University. She later continued her studies at Sullivan University, where she graduated with a Master of Science in Managing Information Technology. Throughout her years at LUA, she has taught Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies, and also served as a 2nd-grade homeroom teacher during the 2006–2007 school year. She also taught technology to 5th to 8th graders for seven years. She has attended multiple professional development programs and earned certificates in teaching Arabic as a Second Language and in content-based Arabic instruction for K–12, sponsored by the ClassRoad Foundation and the STARTALK program. Alhamdulillah, she is blessed with one son who graduated from LUA in 2010, and is also a proud grandmother of two grandsons, one of whom is currently a Pre-K3 student at LUA.
